About Hypnotherapy

It is an altered state of consciousness into which you allow yourself to enter, with my guidance.  You are in control all the time, you always know what is happening, and you can come out of the altered state at any time in the same way one can snap out of a vivid daydream.

Hypnosis is that dreamy feeling (known as the hypnogogic state) you go into every time you fall asleep but you are not actually asleep; you are aware of your surroundings but are probably very much enjoying that timeless, dreamy feeling you are experiencing. The similar state you may be more familiar with is the pleasant feeling you have when you realise you are waking up but are not quite awake (known as the hypnopompic state).  That is how it feels to be hypnotised.

The hypnotic state can feel as if you are dreaming or daydreaming and is a natural form of consciousness which everyone experiences on a daily basis at various times. Did you know that we spend most of our time in some sort of hypnotic trance?  Do you even remember anything about your trip to/from work?

Within the hypnotic state one can by-pass the barriers to our inner thoughts and feelings, and suggestions are acted upon much more powerfully than is possible in a normal state of mind.

Mental imagery can also be utilised to assist people to make changes in their lives. The unconscious mind does not distinguish between ´real` and imagined` experiences, which is why dreams can feel real.  Movie makers take advantage of this, which is why they seem so real.  In effect, you are in some sort of hypnotic trance whilst you are watching the film; the movie becomes your hypnotist until the credits roll.

This phenomenon can be used so that clients can create new positive realities for themselves or alter their perception of past events which may affect current behaviour and promote positive change.

There is also a growing body of scientific knowledge, which is showing that the mind is directly linked to our immune systems, which means that techniques used in hypnotherapy can also affect our physical as well as psychological and spiritual well-being. When we are relieved of stress our immune systems are able to function much better and so increase our health in a holistic manner.

Hypnotherapy can have an extremely powerful positive effect on our minds and bodies. You have the opportunity to unlock your incredible abundant potential with these very powerful techniques.
